The Delgado Community College Honors Program is hosting a fundraising event on Thursday November 17, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at d.b.a., located at 618 Frenchmen Street. The event will feature local musicians Meschiya Lake, Kenny Claiborne and Blood From a Stone, Washboard Chaz, The Little Freddie King Band and Delgado faculty and student performers.

Funds raised by the event will be divided between the Delgado Honors Program and the New Orleans Women’s Shelter, a local long-term transitional housing facility for women and children.

The Delgado Honors Program promotes academic excellence and community service, and provides opportunities for Honors students to represent Delgado at state, regional and national honors conferences. Service projects for the coming year include the Holt Cemetery clean-up and organizing volunteers to work with Save our Wetlands.
