Today, November 9, there will be Veterans Day Tribute ceremonies on the West Bank and City Park campuses featuring patriotic music and an address by former Delgado student and former U.S. Navy officer Chris Galliano.

West Bank Campus ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Garden. The O. Perry Walker High School band, choir and JROTC will participate. Introduction of the guest speaker will be by his father, Tim Galliano.

City Park Campus ceremonies begin at 1 p.m. on the Dolphin Patio.  The Navy Band New Orleans and Jesuit High School MCJROTC will participate. Chris Galliano will be introduced by his father, Tim Galliano, before making his remarks.

Chris Galliano served in the Navy for 10 years until 2010 in the surface fleet and in command and control communications. He is a veteran who completed tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, the Shock and Awe campaign and the tsunami relief operation in Indonesia.

Before his Navy career, Chris Galliano enrolled at Delgado in 1996, then transferred to Southeastern Louisiana University. Before leaving the military, Chris served in New Orleans, working on large-scale information technology projects and programs designed to enhance the information technology capabilities of the Navy.
