Delgado Community College will present a children’s play, The Race through Darkwood Forest, an adaptation of Aesop’s fable about the tortoise and the hare, Nov. 29 – Dec. 4.
The children’s play was written and directed by Delgado Assistant Professor Michael Aaron Santos and features an all-Delgado student cast.
The production features puppets, including a ten-foot-tall ogre, designed and constructed by Jenny Louis and Tom Dawson of Delgado. Costumes are designed by Big Easy Award nominee Joan Long.
The Race through Darkwood Forest opens Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Delgado Drama Hall in Isaac Delgado Hall, 615 City Park Ave, 3rd floor. Performances are at 8 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday. Matinees are scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4. Tickets are $10 general admission; $8 for Delgado students and seniors; and $5 for children under 16.
